IB-C50-AIR for vacuum
IB-C50-AIR for UHV is a modified version of our standard slits. All parts and surfaces are suited for UHV operation (including microswitches, motors, wiring, connectors, guides, and encoders).
The IB-C50-AIR is a compact system but still spacious enough to house internal linear encoders (option). Our smallest system with this capability. Except for the additional space for internal encoders, the design is very similar to our classic IB-C30-AIR slit system: The aperture is defined by four independently movable highly polished tungsten carbide blades. The blades are, in turn, controlled by a high-precision guiding rail system and high-resolution stepping motors.
The slit can be provided with our standard 2 mm blades with a knife-edge slope at 0.5 degrees. with an RMS roughness better than 25 nm. Other blade types, including natural B4C, can be provided as well.
Without internal encoders, it is possible to reduce width in beam direction with 24 mm (2 mm blades).
In addition to UHV operation (10E-9 mbar), the IB-C50-AIR can also be provided in an HV-version (down to 10E-7 ). This is mainly defined by choice of motor type, guides and microswitches.
